Morphological and Physiological Analysis of VRI-3 Cashew Plantations under Different Planting Density Systems

چکیده
Cashewnut (Anacardium occidentale L.) is an export-oriented plantation crop. The VRI-3 cashew plantation, utilizing a 7 x m low-density (LD) system with approximately 200 plants ha-1, falls short of meeting the country's import and export demands. Consequently, high-density planting (HDP) was developed in Tamil Nadu to enhance India's production. Further advancement through ultra-high-density (U-HDP) has proven effective, achieving plant population about 1250–1600 per hectare. In addition increased number U-HDP approach, morphological characteristics such as tree height, trunk girth, canopy ground coverage were studied. impact these changes resulting from on physiological parameters like Leaf Area Index (LAI) light extinction coefficient (k) also analysed. This analysis carried out using ‘Ceptometer’ model AccuPAR LP-80 device, aiming determine how might interfere productivity subsequently influence plantation's production capacity.

ABSTRACT- Field experiments were conducted to determine the relationship between plant leaf area as the dependent variable with leaves number, leaf dry weight, and total vegetative components dry weight and plant height as the independent variables. Treatments were two tillage systems (conventional and no-tillage) as main plots, and seven sowing dates (11 May, 18 May, 25 May, 1...

متن کاملGenetic analysis of agronomic and physiological traits of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) using generation mean analysis under drought stress conditions and spring planting in the cold climate
Study of heritability and gene action to improve agronomic and physiological traits, especially under drought stress conditions, are very important. The objectives of this study were to investigate heritability for important agronomic traits and some physiological characters in a cross between two spring wheat cultivars. The experiment was carried out using different generations (BC1, BC2, F3, ...
